Teaching & Learning

SDEA experts provide tools, tips, and resources to connect with every student
Our goal is to ensure that every child has a qualified and caring teacher in the classroom. That's why we're leading conversations on the best practices for quality teaching.
Whether it's helping teachers understand how to use Student Learning Objectives in their classrooms, developing the best assessments for students, or supporting members as they transform the teaching profession to meet the challenges of the 21st century student, SDEA is here to provide resources and necessary professional development to help our members be successful in their classroom.

Micro-Credentials

A micro-credential is a short, competency-based recognition. NEA offers over 175 micro-credentials that have been created by educators for educators.

Local Trainings Upon Request

SDEA offers in-depth learning opportunities to support SDEA local associations and their school districts. Training requests are designed for group sessions rather than individual participation. Our training programs are tailored for groups to ensure a collaborative and interactive learning experience.

Being part of the union made me feel like I mattered and that someone cared about me. I love my job and know how important my role is, but in the union, I also began to see how I could be more deeply involved with my colleagues and have a broader impact on education.

Aspiring educators work together on a problem based learning activity in an SDEA professional development session.
