SLO Calculator

Download this tool to assist in developing your SLO attainment.
Published: December 20, 2023

CAUTION: This calculator rounds to the nearest whole number. If you have 6 or fewer students in your SLO, the rounding feature may skew your results.

For instance, if you have 5 students and set your SLO at 90%, that’s 4.5 students x .86 (min. % needed to have high attainment) = 3.87 students, which rounds to 4, meaning a 4 or 5 would be high achievement.

If you set your goal at 100%, or all students, then 5 x .86 = 4.3 which will round down to 4, meaning 4 or 5 students would still be high achievement. Yet, 4 out of 5 students meeting the SLO is only 80%.

RECOMMENDATION: If you have 6 or fewer students in your SLO, please consider using differentiation, setting an individual growth goal for each student. Your SLO goal would be that, “100% of my students will meet their individual growth goal (see attached).” Then, attach a chart with individual goals for each student.
