- The nominee must be a SDEA member for at least 20+ years.
- The nominee should exemplify the personification of professionalism.
- The nominee should demonstrate a strong advocacy for students and for the Association.
- The nominee has contributed with strong involvement at the local, state and/or national level.
- The nominee should demonstrate community involvement.
- The nominee has inspired others to be active within the Association.
